Wizards have Magic's number

ORLANDO — John Wall had 24 points and 10 assists to help the Wizards defeat the Magic for the 12th straight time, 105-99 on Saturday night.

The Wizards ended a three-game losing streak and got double-figure scoring from all five starters and reserve Gary Neal. Otto Porter, Jared Dudley and Neal scored 16 each, Marcin Gortat had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Garrett Temple added 11 points.

Nikola Vucevic had 23 points and nine rebounds, Victor Oladipo scored 17 and Channing Frye added 12 for Orlando, which has lost five of six.

Washington had a 100-90 lead with less than three minutes left when Wall lined up a 3-pointer from about 30 feet and sank it.

The Wizards led by double digits throughout the second half until Tobias Harris' layup cut Orlando's deficit to 94-86 with 5:14 left.

The Magic, which struggled offensively most of the game, hit 13 of 17 shots in the fourth quarter and had time for one last rally, but Wall kept the Wizards in front.

The point guard fed Dudley for a 3-pointer to quiet the crowd then pushed the shot clock near expiration before unloading from three or four steps behind the 3-point line. A minute later, he sank one more pull-up jumper from 20 feet.

Washington was extremely aggressive at the defensive end in the third quarter, limiting Orlando to 7-of-18 shooting (38.8 percent) and creating plenty of running opportunities. All five Wizards starters were in double figures by the end of the quarter as Washington hit 11 of 17 shots, spreading the ball evenly.

That included a running, left-handed 17-footer by Wall that sailed over the 6-foot-11 Vucevic and went through the net as the third-quarter buzzer sounded.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Former Gator Al Horford scored a season-high 33 and had 10 rebounds, Paul Millsap added 18 points and the host Hawks beat the Bulls 120-105.
