ST. PETERSBURG — Dixie Hollins dominated the St. Petersburg City wrestling championship at Northeast, winning 10 individual titles.

Of Dixie Hollins' champions, 195-pounder Clifton Thomas won his second straight city title. Zach Addis (132) unseated defending champion Darquell Pierre of Boca Ciega with a second period pin and Davonte Harrington unseated Northeast's Tim Rudderham 12-10 in the 160 final.

Liam Ward of Dixie Hollins scored three first-period pins to take the 106-pound class and Ward won the Gregorian Award for most pins in the shortest period of time.

"This is a good tournament to come to after the (holiday) break," Dixie Hollins coach Nick Spataro said. "It was a good way to get the rust off and still come away with a trophy."

Spataro was particularly proud of the effort from 170-pounder James Redner, who missed districts last season after undergoing neck surgery. After a second neck surgery, Saturday's event was his first meet back and he went 2-0 to win the 170 title.

Northeast's Danny Gutierrez cracked one of his vertebrae at regionals last season and Saturday also marked his return to the mat. Gutierrez won the 138-pound class, scoring a tech fall and a second period pin in the final for his third city title. Boca Ciega's Jacob Mohr (145) also won his third city title.

OTHER TOURNAMENTS: Palm Harbor University finished second to Venice at the Bill Combs Duals in Brooksville on Saturday with both Jared and Connor Prince going 9-0. Connor was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the meet. … Dunedin finished 6-3 in the Manatee Hurricane Duals, beating Tampa Bay area teams Anclote and Alonso. … Indian Rocks Christian finished sixth and Admiral Farragut was ninth in the 24-team 1A Scuffle hosted by Pembroke Pines.
