NEW YORK — Chris Capuano outpitched Justin Verlander and Brian McCann and Chase Headley homered for the Yankees. New York went 2-1 against the Tigers' AL Cy Young Award winners. It edged Max Scherzer on Monday, then former Ray David Price got a no-decision Tuesday in a game the Tigers won in 12. Verlander was solid for seven innings but gave up Headley's homer in the fifth and McCann's tiebreaking solo shot in the seventh.
