Pedestrian left with life threatening injuries after he was struck by car in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG — A 26-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a car in St. Petersburg.

Jerry Dickens was crossing at the 100 block of Third Street N. when he was hit by a silver Hyundai Sonata driven by Joseph Fovara, 55, a police report states. The accident occurred about 3 a.m. Thursday.

Dickens was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident and have not decided if citations are warranted, the report states.
