Tampa ranks high among the 'most hipster cities in America'

Where should cool, young people want to move to?

Tampa, among other cities, according to this list assembled through what the website Movehub tongue-in-cheekily called its "groundbreaking new study" on "hipster fashion, diet and vanity."

The site looked at the 150 most populous North American cities and compared them in areas such as number of thrift stores, breweries, vegan eateries, tattoo shops per capita, as well as trendiness as indicated through an increase in the demand for rental homes.

"No editorialising here; just data. Pure, bohemian data," the site wrote.

Tampa ranked No. 17 on the list, six spots behind Orlando (No. 11), which scored very high in vegan shops and thrift stores. The two were the only Florida cities to crack the top 20.

The most hipster city in America, according to this list, is Vancouver, followed by Salt Lake City and Cincinnati.

Business Insider wrote about the rankings, titling its own article "The hippest cities in the US everyone under 30 wants to move to," which garnered retweets from the City of Tampa and University of South Florida on Monday.

Here's a look at Movehub's rankings and methods:
