BULLY PULPIT

Just about everyone knows someone who has been bullied, in ways big and small. Understandably, though, many victims are reluctant to speak about their experiences. We found some who aren't.

This is a caption.

When Northeast High School’s homecoming week tradition called Valhalla was canceled this year by principal Paula Nelson after a few students got a little overzealous with their paint flinging, other students organized an “Alternate Valhalla” at Puryear Park in St. Petersburg. Valhalla, an interclass competition that is more than 50 years old at Northeast, commenced without incident under the supervision of
St. Petersburg Police, allowing music, dance and the addition of more paint. Above, Northeast High seniors Kyleigh Cobett, Aiden Devore, Katrina Crankshaw, Warren Young, David Vasquez, and Stacey Cox enjoy the festivities.
