Since the sixth grade, I have been highly interested in all types of art. At first, I was heavily inspired by the gorgeous style of anime and manga. I absolutely love the way anime looks, which is why I always find myself watching anime and creating new concepts and story lines, which are shown throughout my artwork. I not only get inspired to draw and paint from anime, but I also feel inspiration to create artwork from other random things such as famous quotes, lyrics in a song, or pieces of literature I have recently read. I find that if I really focus on what is happening in the world around me, I can think of ideas and even push myself to the limit and try to create something new. In the future, however, I plan to challenge myself and try out new art styles such as realism (which I am currently working on), and sculpting and photography. Even though I don’t officially plan to go pro as an artist, I will always dedicate a huge part of my life to the fantastic hobby of creating new art, because in the end I know I have created something wonderful that not only makes me smile but makes other people smile, too. --Oriana Caffo, Freedom High junior
