BULLY PULPIT

Just about everyone knows someone who has been bullied, in ways big and small. Understandably, though, many victims are reluctant to speak about their experiences. We found some who aren't.

This is a caption.

JJ on JJ:
Everyday things, other artists, things you wouldn’t think are inspiring, inspire me. Maybe driving down the street and seeing a tree that looks like a person or has a face in it. My brother always drew, and we started to have competitions to see whose drawing was better, and our parents would judge. They always said we were both good. I do portraits, graphite portraits — which is a nice way of saying pencil — and surreal sketches. I plan to keep doing what I do; I’ll always be drawing and doing art. It’s a part of me.

On Exhibit features high school artists from the Tampa Bay area. If you know a high school student we should consider spotlighting (including yourself), please send the name, school, art medium and contact information to tbtwostaff@gmail.com. Put “on exhibit” in the subject line.
