BULLY PULPIT

Just about everyone knows someone who has been bullied, in ways big and small. Understandably, though, many victims are reluctant to speak about their experiences. We found some who aren't.

Desiree Sheridan started collecting vintage clothing as a teenager, when she bought a pair of boots she needed for her high school’s 1974 production of M*A*S*H. Her passion for vintage ignited and fueled her through studies at the American Conservatory Theater in California, where she earned an M.F.A. while making extra money by picking up items from thrift stores and selling them to vintage stores. •  Now she’s the owner of Buffalo Gal Vintage Clothing, Accessories and Gifts boutique in downtown St. Petersburg. “I sold those M*A*S*H boots just recently,” Sheridan says. She sees the hipster/vintage trends teenagers wear today and tries to reflect that in her store, including dresses perfect for homecoming. “For all your fashion emergencies,” says the store’s website, buffalogalvintage.com.  •   Sheridan let tb-two* come in for a trip down memory lane with some vintage dresses perfect for a modern homecoming.
