BULLY PULPIT

Just about everyone knows someone who has been bullied, in ways big and small. Understandably, though, many victims are reluctant to speak about their experiences. We found some who aren't.

Oh, baby, baby feet (photo, top left)
It used to be simple — crocheted booties from grandma. Now the booties are made of buttery soft leather and usually are decked out with extra cuteness, like cupcakes, above, footballs, or flowers.

Catch us if you can feet (photo, bottom, first from left)
Toddler and older children’s shoes are a little more fashionable, even if they lose some of that baby adorableness. Girls kick sparkly little slippers reminiscent of Dorothy and even sparkly sneakers that light up with each step. Boys have light-up sneakers, too, minus the sparkle, but either girl or boy can chose lightsaber shoes that battle each other with each step.

All a teenager wants is to be an adult. But in the shoe department, a part of us still wants to be a kid. Look no further than Toms, popular with girls and guys. Don’t the comfy fabric slip-ons remind you of baby booties?

Working feet (bottom, third from left)
You may have to shed the Toms when you hit the adult work world. For girls, that can mean pointy-toed nightmares 9 to 5. Guys, you have it easier, though you most likely will have to shed the sneakers for grown-up foot coverings.

Feet that have paid the shoe dues (bottom, right)
Old feet can be the wisest (and happiest) feet of all. This age in footwear is purely about comfort. Pillow-soft Skechers, anything open-toed and gel-soled, women and men. Tempur-Pedic slippers, anyone?
