Well, for one thing, it's the coolest high school newspaper in all the land. Watch our video and find out more.
Just about everyone knows someone who has been bullied, in ways big and small. Understandably, though, many victims are reluctant to speak about their experiences. We found some who aren't.
After late nights cranking out essays or hanging out with friends, sometimes it’s hard to resist “lazy” as the fashion of choice; some mornings just call for throwing on a pair of sweats, rocking flip flops in true Floridian style and heading out the door. Some people are more daring, however. Christina Ferguson, sophomore at East Lake High, can’t leave the house without fashionable footwear. “Who wants to totally slob it?” she asks. “Not this girl! Besides, I like heels. A lot.” Her friends do it, too, “but they’re just embarrassed to admit it,” she says.
Maybe this trend isn’t one that will catch on, but there’s no harm in trying. Next time you’re running errands in a hoodie and sweats or gym shorts, slip on those homecoming heels you’ve only worn once. You’ll look mahhhvelous. — KATIE LAMONT, East Lake High
