BULLY PULPIT

Just about everyone knows someone who has been bullied, in ways big and small. Understandably, though, many victims are reluctant to speak about their experiences. We found some who aren't.

Story and photos by SARAH PHILLIPS   |   DURANT HIGH

Shopping at thrift stores is good for many reasons, not the least of which is how easy it is on your wallet. But, even better, you can find some really cool clothes. Durant High junior Molly Holland is a pro at thrifting. For today’s story, she shopped at the Lighthouse Brandon Family Store, 535 E. Brandon Blvd. Here are some tips she offers for scoring the best treasures:

• It takes time. You want to go in there when you have time to search through everything, because you might find that hidden  gem on a rack.
• If you find something that you think is going to be too big, try it on because you can always roll the sleeves or tuck it in to make it more tailored looking.
• To speed up the process, look for patterns or fabrics you like, then see if you like the style of the item.
