Just about everyone knows someone who has been bullied, in ways big and small. Understandably, though, many victims are reluctant to speak about their experiences. We found some who aren't.
Mark your calendar for prom dress giveaways
Belle of the Ball Project is once again giving away prom dresses to high school girls in need on these dates: March 24, April 14 and 21 and May 5 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Seminole Mall, 11201 Park Blvd., Seminole. Donations of gently worn dresses can be made at the same time. Volunteers slots for spring distribution are filled, but if you are interested in helping in other ways or in the future, contact volunteerbelle.info@gmail.com.
Teen leadership program needs volunteers
The Dunedin Parks and Recreation department is looking for volunteers for its summer program. The program aims to teach leadership training, team building and communication skills. Teens would work with adult mentors June 11 to Aug. 17. Students ages 13-17 who can commit to training and eight weeks of camp should get an application online at DunedinGov.com.
