Thick humidity blanketed the artists and their parking lot canvas, carrying a distinct threat of rain. Unfazed, the Palm Harbor University High seniors, armed with tents and umbrellas, as well as rollers and brushes, spent the last Friday of their summer break expressing themselves by personalizing their parking spots. William Gregory, who has been flying planes for four years as a cadet captain in the Civil Air Patrol, painted the Civil Air Patrol seal as well as the plane he flies. From the asphalt of Cayli Caruso’s space appeared the main antagonist from the show Avatar: The Last Airbender. “He just died, but the idea is that he kind of lives on,” Caruso said. “Also, no underclassmen will want to park in my spot.”
