10 apps to make school a cinch

So your parents keep yelling at you for being on your phone instead of doing your school work. Prove to them that phones can be tools of academia through these 10 productivity apps.

1. Homework

This app allows you to enter, categorize, organize, prioritize and keep a record of all of the homework you have for each class for each day.

2. Wunderlist

This isn't just some ordinary listing app. Wunderlist lets you take control of your priorities and customize them to your liking, making every to-do list simple and efficient.

3. ClearFocus

This app is all about helping you pace yourself, allowing you to use your time in the most efficient way possible.

4. Calenmob

Calendars just got an upgrade. Sync all your events and make them even easier to manage and remember with alarms and updates. You'll always know what's scheduled next.

5. Google Drive

All of your documents and PowerPoint presentations are now in one place, accessible from any computer or mobile device with an Internet connection. No flash drives needed.

6. Lumosity

Challenge your brain with this app. Lumosity is loaded with games that help you train your brain in various things such as flexibility, memory, attention and much more. Track your progress and see your brain grow.

7. Dictionary

This is essential when you have no paper dictionary or computer around. Doing an assignment on your phone? Pull up the dictionary app to find out what Hamlet just said in actual English.

8. Thesaurus

If you're writing a paper or doing anything that requires you to put your ideas into words, you might want to think of more compelling words than "bad" and "good." How about "baneful" and "exemplary"? Find those words on your thesaurus app and you're set.

9. WPS Office

You want to get ahead on an essay or a speech or some short-answer questions while you have some free time but you don't have a computer. No problem! Use WPS Office to make documents, spreadsheets, even PowerPoint presentations right on your phone. You can even save them to your Google Drive so you can edit them on your computer later.

10. TED

Teachers show inspirational and revolutionary TED talks all the time. You can have access to all of those ideas and speeches right on your phone. Not only can they give you new ideas for that paper on the importance of minor characters to the theme of Death of a Salesman, they also can inspire you.

So unlock your phones and get to work!
