ST. PETERSBURG HIGH

Nerd alert: AP Literature students got to interview actor Billy Crudup via FaceTime about the graphic novel Watchmen. Crudup played the role of pre-accident Dr. Manhattan in the 2009 film adaptation. Students held analytical back and forths regarding the graphic novel and discussed aspects of filming the movie. Sometimes, it pays to be a geek. Samuel Dolson, senior, tb-two* staffer

ROBINSON HIGH

Tech savvy: Students in Stacy Zuppa's math classes received Surface RT tablets to use during their class period. Each student was assigned a tablet to use, and share them among students from other class periods; they can retrieve their notes from a cloud service at home. The tablets are part of a Hillsborough County pilot program integrating Microsoft devices in the classroom. If the test run proves successful, the program will help the county comply with a state mandate requiring all textbooks to be digital by the 2015-2016 school year. Isabel Hanewicz, freshman, BB correspondent

PLANT CITY HIGH

Fish are friends, not food: The amazing new addition to the AP Environmental Science classroom is a mini coral reef. Anyone think they can find Nemo? Rachel Curci, junior, tb-two* staffer

CHAMBERLAIN HIGH

Superheroes on stage: Chamberlain High's Drama Club is in its last week of performances of teacher William Albritton's original play Superheroes in Space. The thespians took it to district competition one-acts and got good reviews. The last show is tonight. Tickets were sold as color-coded wristbands, one for each showing. Abby Rinaldi, junior, tb-two* staffer

OSCEOLA FUNDAMENTAL HIGH

New season, new coach: The Osceola girls varsity basketball team has high hopes this season, even though injuries to guards Brooke Sponheimer and Payton Hill are worrisome. New head coach is Seth McClung, who played for the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays as a relief pitcher before putting on the high school coaching hat. In the photo, the Lady Warriors take on Dixie Hollins in a recent game. Bruce Kurtz, BB correspondent
