Reader's Exchange: Children's books sought

In this age of computers, it is always nice to see children reading regular books. It's important to nurture reading, and Children of the World Preschool in St. Petersburg is doing its part to help by growing its school library. Children of the World is a charitable, nonprofit program formed in 1988 to specifically assist and prepare children 3 to 5 years old who are from non- or limited English-speaking refugee and immigrant families. Children of the World is looking for donations of new or gently used preschool level books, in English or other languages, as the group serves children from more than 15 countries. Book pickup is available. To get more information, and to arrange to donate books, please call (727) 822-4532.

Dona of New Port Richey has a 15-year-old grandson who loves to dress snazzy and frequents the thrift stores in search of vintage finds. He has a collection of cuff links, but no shirts with French cuffs to use them on. Dona has checked the thrift stores for them, to no avail. She is hoping that someone out there will have French cuff dress shirts, in size medium, that they have no use for. She'd be happy to pick them up. Dona can be reached on her cellphone at (727) 207-1737 or at home at (727) 842-8194.

They would hate to just toss the magazines, as they say they are all in great shape and have a lot of history. If you are interested in any or all of the magazines, you may contact John and Marilyn by phone at (727) 584-8875 or via email at wirth@solarbright.com.
