Reader's Exchange: Help her clean house by taking some things off her hand

It's a new year, and for many that means it's time to be out with the old. Carol of Clearwater has several items she would like to pass on to someone who can use them. First, Carol has two mission-style oak chairs for a crafter who would like to re-cane them. Also available is a GPX brand cassette/three-CD/AM/FM stereo with speakers. Carol says it has a couple of quirks, but still plays music. Finally, a Hewlett-Packard Deskjet 842C printer in perfectly good shape is available. It still has the pre-USB port type of plug, so it is useful for a desktop computer or needs a converting cable. If you are interested in any or all of these items, please contact Carol at (727) 461-2868.

Several weeks ago, Sheelagh from the St. Justin Martyr Roman Catholic Church in Seminole wrote in looking for Christmas balls in silver and red, 3 inches and smaller, to use for its 25th anniversary gala, which will be Feb. 8. The decorations can be dropped off at the church office at 10851 Ridge Road in Seminole. Sheelagh wrote in again to let people know that the balls can also be dropped off at the church's "Thrift Shoppe." The "Thrift Shoppe" is a very large shed on the church's premises, which is open 24 hours a day so that folks can constantly drop items off. If you have decorations but cannot deliver them to the church, pickup can be arranged by calling Sheelagh at (727) 585-4251. The church is still in need of many more silver and red balls, so any donations will be greatly appreciated.

Judy of Largo is amazed by the response she sees people get in the Reader's Exchange column, which is what prompted her to write in. She is hoping that someone out there will have a Microsoft Office 2010 manual (which consists of Word, Excel and PowerPoint) that they are no longer using and wouldn't mind giving to her. Judy thinks that perhaps someone who is familiar with all three programs won't need the manual and would donate it to her. Or if someone has just the Word 2010 manual, she would gladly take that. If you can help Judy out, please give her a call at (727) 531-8662.
