Blur's crew gives us style with assuredness. They know how to lay it on and how to hold back. It's spacious, clean, accommodating. Nothing is over the top. Sheer draperies and glass dividers accent the rear interior bar and DJ booth - and they set off an adorable privacy area by the parquet dance floor with peek-a-boo openings. Inside, red vinyl swivel chairs, black cushioned footstools, sperm-shaped glass tables and sheer curtains offer suave seclusion. Black scalloped banquettes line one wall, and tall tables give you a place to rest your drink. A mirror lines the dance floor wall, reflecting the widescreen video projections on the drape-lined opposing wall. Another widescreen HD-TV hangs over the bar in the back, too. A rear patio area with tall wrought-iron tables, third full bar and vintage Captain Fantastic pinball machine - the old platform-wearing Elton John one! - provides a refreshing fresh air refuge. Tuesdays are Blur's gay-friendly night, populated with regulars of the nightclub that inhabited the space before and featuring drag queen bingo. Saturday nights you'll love the female impersonators show, featuring some of Tampa Bay's best known performers.
