Brick House Tavern & Tap is not a restaurant so much as a "concept.'' And that concept begins with a simple question: What do men want? The Brick House answer is beer, and lots of it; food that's comforting but not too challenging; multiple flat-screen TVs showing nothing but sports, but without all the sporting paraphernalia you usually find at sports bars; and friendly, attractive servers in short-shorts who do not look like they have spent a few months' wages augmenting their body parts. Throw in a few recliners and some comfy sofas and a big (albeit fake) fireplace and you have the makings of a new kind of gathering spot.
The commercialized man cave.
The thing about a lot of men, though, is they also like to think there might be a chance of encountering members of the opposite sex, and Brick House seems designed to attract men without turning off women (which may explain why the servers look normal and Coldplay is on the sound system).
