Built and established in 1921 as the Capitol Theatre (and known as the Royalty Theatre from 1982 to 2008), this historic structure, complete with a large mezzanine and furnishings reminiscent of a classic Hollywood theater, is one of the oldest operating theaters in the state of Florida. Owned by the city of Clearwater and operated by Ruth Eckerd Hall, this 460-seat venue plays host to to comedians, pop artists and classic music performances. An ongoing fundraising campaign is aimed at further renovating the building.
