One of the best parks in downtown Tampa because of its location and amenities, Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park lies between the Tampa Bay Times Forum and the Hillsborough River. It includes a memorial to those lost in the Seminole Wars of Florida. Cotanchobee Park offers a pier, canoe launch and trails, and is popular with joggers and rollerbladers. The children's playground features a splash pad, while parents sit back and enjoy the waterfront view.
This 5-acre park along Garrison Channel is the site for major events, such as the dragon boat races and the duck race, as well as weddings and ceremonies. Along with the forum, there is easy access to the Tampa Bay History Center, and the shops, restaurants and theaters at Channelside District.
City parks are open from 8 a.m. until dusk.
