The Dunedin Fine Art Center offers rotating exhibitions in its galleries, lectures, and studio classes and workshops for children and adults. Children can also attend summer arts camps and the David L. Mason Children's Art Museum provides an interactive gallery space for children so that they can better appreciate exhibits.
The Dunedin Fine Art Center is located next to the Dunedin Community Center and Highlander Park. The space can be rented for private or corporate events. An on-site cafe offers coffee, lunch selections and catering.
The cultural and arts center began life as a project of the Dunedin Junior League in 1969.
Hours: Mon.-Sat. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sun. 1-4 p.m.
Currently: Under the BIG Top, a hands-on circus installation and a circus-inspired collection of art, through Aug. 1, 2012.
Upcoming: Miniature Art Society of Florida annual show of works in miniature, includes paintings, scrimshaw, fired porcelain and sculpture. During the run of the exhibit there will be artists at work and available to talk about the techniques involved in creating the miniature artworks. Runs Jan.15-Feb. 5. $7, $5 seniors.
