New York celebrity Chef Marc Murphy’s 240-seat Mediterranean restaurant inside the Hard Rock is an oasis from the ding-ding-ding hubbub of the casino outside. The food is hearty, gutsy, and well-conceived with dishes that lean heavily on wide wood-burning grills for local seafood, artisanal flatbreads and a rotisseried half chicken. Pair it with local craft beers, bottle aged cocktails and regional Mediterranean wines. The menu wanders through the sunny Med countries, from Greek roasted halloumi to more Middle Eastern fattoush and on to Moroccan-spiced lamb flatbread with tzatziki. The restaurant fits two slots: The Tampa Bay area is new territory for big-name chefs aiming to expand their holdings, and Mediterranean cuisine is somewhat underrepresented fare in these parts right now.  Hours: Noon-11 p.m. daily.
