Adjacent to Lake Tarpon in northern Pinellas County, John Chesnut park is a launch site for several local fishing tournaments. Boats with combustion engines may use the lake, a fun place for water skiers and jet skiers. A canoe trail for craft with non-combustion engines leads to an interior lake.

The park also offers a softball field, a  beach volleyball court, a horseshoe pit, picnic shelters, a fishing pier, playgrounds, a dog park, and nature trails.  Guided nature walks are occasionally offered.  See the schedule on the park Web site.

The park is open daily from 7:00 AM to sunset.
