The suburban restaurant's warmly modern decor features sconce wall lamps, hardwood furniture, soft yellows and terra cotta tile. Or sit outside where a few tables under an awning can transform the strip mall eatery into a breezy Euro-style cafe. With the warmth and connectedness of a neighborhood stalwart, most of Michael's short menu is familiar territory, a mix of American, French and Italian comfort foods, from a fragrant bowl of French onion soup to a generous heap of penne Bolognese or a luxurious steak Oscar. The fine wine list covers all the bases. The soups are highly recommended, especially the she-crab. Pretty much everything here is outstanding. An oh-so-pleasant way to sit out Dale Mabry rush hour.
