This classic small-town honky-tonk can trace its origins back to 1952, when it was opened as the Hilltop Lounge and Restaurant, according to local historian Bob Martinez (no, not THAT one). It offers pool tables, the largest dance floor of any bar in Brooksville and a stage that has hosted, along with the local bands that regularly perform there, a long line of more famous performers. These include, in 1972, a young Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan), then a member of a Tampa rock band, and, decades later, country music legends such as Kitty Wells, Bill Anderson and Johnny Paycheck.
