When this remodeled Travelodge opened its doors with a fresh surfer theme in 2009, it quickly caught a flurry of good press by the likes of the New York Times. Locals just know it as a good place to chill on a short staycation. The beachfront bar formerly known as the Swigwam was left largely intact but renamed the PCI Beach Bar. (The dollar bills that dotted the walls are gone, but the graffiti is still there.)  The inn's restaurant, Beachwood BBQ, recently added burgers to its menu.
