This 1.19-mile-long town is located at virtually the mid-point of Pinellas County's beaches. It is a complete community of both small and luxury homes, small and large hotels, retail shops, laundry, barber shops, banks, a service station, taverns and restaurants.

There are 11 separate access points to Redington Shores beaches. Three have showers and one -- the county park between 181st and 182nd avenues -- has restrooms.

Perhaps the most well known attraction here is the Redington Long Pier, extending about 1,200 feet out into the Gulf of Mexico ( The town also has a number of motels. Popular spots include the Friendly Tavern, particularly on karaoke nights, and the Lobster Pot for fine dining.

Although free on-street parking is available on Gulf Boulevard, be careful if you try to park on restricted side streets -- you might get a ticket. The best place to park if you want to go to the beach is at the Pinellas County Park, which has 181 parking spaces.

The city website can offer visitors park locations but for tourist destinations, try, which covers the three beach communities, Redington Beach, North Redington Beach and Redington Shores. For beach access sites, check out Pinellas County's beach website.
