The owners gussied up a slightly tired space, adding white and burgundy linens, appealing dark wood and warm, amber light throughout. Nice, but still inviting and unfussy (with live music many nights), date-night-appropriate, but nothing with a corsage or a ring box. The menu is a bit of a hodgepodge, with Continental classics like escargots en croute to chateaubriand for two, as well as Korean bulgogi and Japanese negimaki. Oh, and Latvian pelmeni (little veal-stuffed dumplings, very tasty, swaddled in a tangy cream) and Middle Eastern-inspired kebabs. Eclectic is one way of describing the assembled dishes, but "a little kooky" is another. Nonetheless, there's a lot of solid cooking going on at the Riviera.
