One of Brandon's few nightlife hotspots, Taiga has a different theme each night of the week and gets crazy on the weekends. The two-story hangout looks like a sports bar with all the TVs and murals of sports scenes on the walls. But at night, the tables are pushed aside, the strobe lights kick on, the DJs and scantily clad go-go dancers come out, and the place is transformed into a night club. The crowd here is mixed, depending on the time of day. Brandon's limited nightlife makes this the place to be. During the day and early evening, the sports bar brings in a diverse crowd. The night of our visit we saw everything from a 60-year-old sipping beers, to college-age and mid-20s folks chugging chocolate martinis. The venue recently got new ownership and had a grand re-opening in November 2009. Newly added is a VIP area called the Black and White Room.
