Opened by Dominic DiFante in the Van Dyke/Dale Mabry area at the site of the former Uncle Burly's barbecue, the Vine is something new in Lutz. Nightclubby, with moody lighting, live music and lots of high bar tables, it nonetheless has a go-getting menu and wine list. The cellar contains 2,000 bottles, about 250 offerings, 40 by the glass. The menu is a suave French-Chinese-Japanese mashup that seems especially focused on organic produce and the provenance of its meats (all meat and fish are free of hormones and antibiotics and many are brand name, like Meyer Natural Angus beef, Vande Rose Farms Duroc pork, American Cedar Springs lamb). Service failed to measure up early in the Vine’s life, but improvements have been made.
