Long a fixture in Seminole Heights in Tampa, this purveyor of authentic Mexican street food branched out and opened a location in a converted gas station in the Grand Central District.
Customers can order from the wait staff for sit-down service or walk up to the bus to order food to go. There will be indoor and outdoor seating. And unlike the Taco Bus in Tampa, the St. Petersburg location will sell beer and wine.
Get in line, be patient, and when your turn comes, order your favorite meat. If you want a suggestion, try the barbacoa and the lengua, even if you’re squeamish and have to try to not think about what lengua is. And don’t ask for a crunchy tortilla. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and you don’t have to be a vegetarian to love the butternut tostada. Lunch and dinner, seven days a week..
