5 things to do under $5: Wiener dog racing, Streetcar Festival, Clearwater chalk art, postcard show

1Wienerfest: They had us at wiener dog racing. This day devoted to dachshunds features racing, a dog costume contest, food trucks, photo booth and raffles at the Florida State Fairgrounds on Saturday. Leashed dogs of all breeds welcome. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. 4802 U.S. 301 N, Tampa. Free admission. (407) 463-1786.

2Upper Tampa Bay Chamber Oktoberfest: More wiener dog racing! The celebration at Tampa Bay Downs added wiener dog racing and a Volkswagen show to the Oktoberfest party that includes a giant Munich-style tent, German music, dancing, food, a midway carnival and competitions including stein holding, log sawing, barrel rolling and keg tossing. 5-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.- 11 p.m. Saturday and noon-7 p.m. Sunday. 11225 Race Track Road, Tampa. $5, 12 and younger/veterans free. 3Streetcar Fest: Ding. Ding. You can take the kids for a free ride on Tampa’s historic streetcars all day Saturday. There will also be live music, entertainment and activities at most of the stops. Centro Ybor, 1600 E Eighth Ave., Ybor City. (813) 254-4278.

4Clearwater Beach Chalk Art Festival: More than 40 chalk artists will adorn the sidewalks and promenades as they compete for prizes and awards. There will also be a kids zone, arts and crafts vendors and music. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. Beach Walk, 301 S Gulfview Blvd., Clearwater. Free. (727) 447-7600.

5Postcard Club Fall Show: Deltiology, or postcard collecting, is the third-largest collecting hobby in the world, behind coins and stamps, but postcards offer a rich treasure of images of old-time tourism and vacations of another era. Nearly 20 dealers offering antique and collectible postcards, paper and ephemera. $3, $5 two days, 11 and younger free. Tampa Stadium Hotel, 4750 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa.
