1 Country in the Park: Pinellas Park's annual festival and trade show includes live music by country hitmaker Mark Chesnutt (It's a Little Too Late, Let It Rain) an arts and crafts show, pony rides, car show, tree and plant sale and children's activities. No coolers allowed. Free. 10 a.m. Saturday at England Brothers Bandshell Park, 5010 81st Ave. N, Pinellas Park. (727) 541-0895.

2 Picnic in the Park: Remember that Broadway show Sunday in the Park with George? You may feel like you've stepped into it. Pack your lunch and a blanket for this old-fashioned picnic full of Victorian sports and games including hoops and sticks, croquet, horseshoes, badminton, dominoes, tiddlywinks and three-legged races. Plus, Blue Bell will be handing out free ice cream, the Tampa Community Band will perform Broadway favorites, the Humane Society will have adoptable dogs and the Lowry Park Zoo will bring a two-toed sloth, a green winged macaw, an eastern indigo snake and more. It's free, and there will be food available for sale. Special $1 admission to the Henry B. Plant Museum. It all takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but get their early to score a prime spot in the shade Sunday at Henry B. Plant Park, 401 W Kennedy Blvd., Tampa. (813) 253-3333.

3 Dogs' Day in Dade City: Have a day out with your pooch, with activities like a decorated dog wagon parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, a dog costume contest at 11 a.m., a Canine Got Talent competition at noon, an ice cream and yogurt-eating contest at 1 p.m. and plenty of pet comfort stations. Free at Agnes Lamb Park, Meridian Avenue and Ninth Street, Dade City. (352) 521-5858.

4 Stories My Mother Told Me: Friday is the opening of artist Tim Gibbon's showcase of large acrylic paintings and cutouts that will be the first opening of an art show at the Stageworks Theatre — and the beginning of a series of art shows that will be installed at the opening of each new Stageworks play. The exhibit will run through April 18 and can be viewed during box office hours and prior to all performances. Free. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Stageworks Theatre, 1120 E Kennedy Blvd., Tampa. (813) 727-2708.

5 Charity Horse Show: One of the oldest equestrian shows in Florida, dating back to 1933, this show attracts some of the finest breeders in the country. It features top Saddlebreds, known as the "peacock of the horse world," as well as Hackney ponies being driven in harness, Morgan horses used in dressage and show jumping and road horses from all over the country to benefit the Scottish Rite Foundation of Florida. For equestrian fans, it's a good way to see all kinds of show horses, and parking and admission are free at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4802 U.S. 301 N, Tampa, today through Saturday.
