1 Screen on the Green: Tampa's Water Works Park will have a series of family-friendly Halloween-themed movies in October beginning with Ghostbusters Saturday. The movies will be shown on a large, inflatable, outdoor movie screen and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Popcorn, candy and drinks will be available to purchase and a food truck will also be on site. Bring some water shoes because the park has a fun splash play area. You can pack picnic baskets and bring coolers, blankets, low-back lawn chairs, and well-behaved, leashed dogs. Alcohol is prohibited. Coming up in the series: Hotel Transylvania (Oct. 10), The Goonies (Oct. 17) and Frankenweenie (Oct. 24).

2 Free family expos: Two family expos at the Florida State Fairgrounds are free this weekend. On Saturday, the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County is holding a Tampa Bay Kids Expo from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., loaded with children's activities including bounce houses, face painting, stage performances and crafts, and also health screenings and information on family-related topics. On Sunday from noon to 6 p.m., Telemundo hosts La Feria de la Familia, a family fair with live entertainment, television personalities and a kids play zone, as well as information and resources. Now in its 11th year during Hispanic Heritage Month, the fair will bring one of the most recognized personalities in Spanish-language television, Gaby Espino, as well as Fabian Rios, most recently seen as the villain on Telemundo's hit Tierra de Reyes. The main stage will be emceed by radio host and Boxeo Telemundo presenter Gaby Calderon, and telenovela actress Alexandra Pomales. 3 Straz Live! Open House Party: The Straz Center for the Performing Arts opens its doors on Saturday for a day of free performances, one-day ticket deals, backstage tours, face painting, exhibits and hands-on activities on the Riverwalk from noon to 5 p.m. at 1010 N MacInnes Place, Tampa. 4 Harbor Sounds Music Festival: Main Street in Safety Harbor will have live music on three stages from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday with headliners the Black Honkeys on the main gazebo beginning at 7:30 p.m. There will be food vendors, arts and crafts vendors and a custom car show. Free.

5 Birds and the Bees and the Bonsai Trees Festival: This educational and entertaining day at Clearwater's Moccasin Lake Nature Park will celebrate American bald eagles and other birds of prey housed at the park. Presentations will be made throughout the day highlighting eagles, owls, hawks, vultures and a variety of other interesting birds. There will also be a judged honey contest, honey samples, bee education, arts and crafts for children, music and food. It's free from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday at 2750 Park Trail Lane, Clearwater.
