1John's Pass Seafood Festival: Now in its 33rd year, this annual event has more than 100 seafood options this year, a Halloween block party, arts and crafts, live music and children's activities. The first grouper sandwiches start rolling out at 3 p.m. Friday and from 7 to 11 p.m. that night things heat up with a huge block party and costume contest for adults with more than $1,000 in prizes handed out. On Saturday, the festival's first Battle in the Gulf Fishing Tournament kicks off as the sun rises and there's a kids costume contest at 3 p.m. (register in advance at Windworks kite store on Village Boulevard). On Sunday you can watch the Best Chef Cook-off, then starting at 4 p.m. the Sauce Boss sings, tells stories and cooks up a big pot of gumbo for the crowd. 2 All British Car Show: Brits make the best movie villains and their stylish cars are always part of the package. You can see why as some 250 classic British cars and motorcycles are lined up on Main Street in Safety Harbor from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will even be a special appearance by '60s pop artist Gary Puckett (Young Girl), who will do a meet at greet starting at 11 a.m. It's free for spectators to check out the cars, which will include Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Aston Martin, MG, Triumph, Lotus, Morris Minor and Mini Cooper.
3 Play Date with Peppa Pig: Children can pose for pictures with Peppa Pig, the star of the hit Nick Jr. TV series, at Clearwater's Westfield Countryside Mall. There will also be Peppa Pig-inspired arts and crafts and giveaways from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the mall at 27001 U.S. 19 N, Clearwater. (727) 796-1070.
4 Circus McGurkis: This annual peace festival and people's fair is sponsored by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) with art, crafts, musicians, dancers, storytellers, community action groups, kids activities and food. 5 Sam Ash Drum Bash V.6: Local music educator Jim Chambers will present his top 20 drum students competing for prizes with a panel of celebrity judges including WFLA-CH. 8 reporter Leslee Lacey and Noel Biseti, drummer for Down by Law.
