Fundraiser to help Port Richey skater heading to world championships

A fundraiser for roller skater Siobhan Boismier of Port Richey will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at SpinNations Skating Center, 8345 Congress St., Port Richey.

Boismier, who skates with Florida Skating Academy, recently competed in the 2018 National Championships in Lincoln, Neb., and has qualified to compete in the 2018 World Roller Skating Championships in October. She and her skating partner, Chris Gori, will join 1,500 athletes representing 35 countries, who will compete at the Disney Events Arena in Disneyland Paris.

Boismier will give a solo performance on Sept. 20 at SpinNations. Coffee will be available at no cost and numerous prizes will be raffled off. Visitors can skate or just watch. The cost is $7 for skaters, $3 for spectators.
