Master Gardener Nursery: Spruce up a landscape or garden space — find a large selection of Florida native and Florida-friendly plants, all from healthy stock, at budget prices, at nursery open from 9 a.m. to noon, each Wednesday and Saturday. First-Time Home Buyers Class: The class is provided by the Hernando County Housing Authority in partnership with Solita’s House. Pet Adoption and Awareness Event: The event will include local foster groups, therapy and service animal groups, Southeastern Guide Dogs, raffles, 50/50s, silent auctions, food vendors, games, music and store bargains. Learn about Thrifty Dog, a nonprofit foundation advocating for animals through monetary aid, education and awareness. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free admission. Pig Roast Luau: The event is a fundraiser to send a veteran on an Honor Flight and to raise funds to host a holiday party for family members of the Army National Guard Helicopter Battalion. The event includes entertainment provided by Kenn ‘E’ Grube, Elvis impersonator, 50/50 tickets and a basket raffle. 5 p.m. $20, includes pig roast, potatoes, baked beans and dessert. Brookridge Good Times Line Dance Social: Bring your own snacks and beverages (and ice, if needed). No lessons provided, but instructors are on hand to give assistance if needed. Singles and couples welcome, and are encouraged to wear "slidey" shoes (No open back sandals, foot tubes will be available to put over shoes if needed).
