Things to Do in Pasco and Hernando counties for Dec. 8

Festivals

Taco and Beer Festival: The family-friendly event will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at Hernando Park, 205 E Fort Dade Ave., Brooksville. It will include food trucks, vendors and live entertainment. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Featured bands include Southern Rumble, Actual Bank Robbers and Bob Hope Band. Bring a chair or blanket. No outside food or drink permitted. Wine Festival: Celebrate Florida Estate Winery’s 16th birthday with a birthday party and festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 9 at 25241 State Road 52, Land O’Lakes. Browse the vendors with handmade items, unique gifts and food for sale, enjoy entertainment, door prizes and meet the winemaker to learn how wines are crafted, with tastings available. Sunday’s Soulful Supper Dinner Show: Derrick Williams and the Gospel Voice Band will perform traditional and contemporary gospel music fused with jazz, R&B, rock and soul from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at Dulcet Restaurant and Lounge, 6220 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. HypnoClyde: The comedy hypnotist will perform two show, at 5 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. Dec. 9 at Zephyrhills Lions Club, 5827 Dean Dairy Road, Zephyrhills. Proceeds support youth scholarships. Stage West Community Playhouse 2018- 2019 season: Stage West has announced the shows for the 2018-19 season. Musicals will include Into the Woods, Annie and Beauty and the Beast. Plays include The Underpants, Of Mice and Men, Steel Magnolias and Noises Off. Historic Views and Holiday Magic: The exhibit is on display through Jan. 20 at Uptown Art Gallery at Brooksville City Hall, 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville. The gallery includes poetry on display from Just Poets, works from the Nature Coast Art League and photography from the Spring Hill Camera Club. There is also pottery jewelry and woodworking in the two new display cases that were obtained from a grant from The Hernando County Arts Council. The gallery is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Frida: Teacher’s Discovery Traveling Exhibit — Murals: Continues through Dec. 12 at Pasco-Hernando State College’s Rao Musunuru M.D. Art Gallery, West Campus, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. Art gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fridays. Exhibits are free and open to the public. Celebrating U.S. Navy SEALs: A two-day event is planned with Capt. Norman Olson, a retired Navy SEAL commander and founding member of the Navy Leapfrogs, and author of Air Capabilities of the U.S. Navy SEALs, a book that salutes the works of the SEALs. The first event will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 9 at Evans Prairie Country Club, 1825 Evans Prairie Trail, Zephyrhills. Capt. Olson and men of the Naval Special Warfare who contributed to his book will present a question and answer session with historic photos and memorabilia. The second event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 10 at Skydive City, 4241 Sky Dive Lane, Zephyrhills. The Phantom Airborne Brigade and the United States Special Operations Command Parachute Team (Para-Commandos) will present jump demonstrations. There is no cost to attend.
