Things to Do in Pasco and Hernando counties starting Aug. 31

Loomis Bros. Circus: There will be two shows: 7 p.m. Sept. 6 and 7 at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 Broad St., Brooksville. The "Circus is Alive" themed show features elephants, acrobats, tigers, daredevils, clowns and a live circus band. Doors open approximately one hour prior to each performance and all tickets are general admission, first-come, first-served. Funds raised benefit the nonprofit Florida International Teaching Zoo in Bushnell. $20, $8 ages 3-12, 2 and younger free. Call (352) 587-2845.

Annie: Auditions for the hit musical Annie will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 7 and 1 p.m. Sept. 8 at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Those auditioning must prepare 16-32 bars of a musical (any musical, not necessarily this musical); a bluetooth speaker and an accompanist will be available. Also wear clothing that allows you to move for the dance portion, including dance shoes or closed-toe shoes. The directors are looking to cast girls age 6-14, boys age 12-17, and men and women ages 20-60. Show dates are Nov. 29-Dec. 2 and Dec. 7-9. Talent Search: Tin Pan Alley Productions invites singers and performing artists of all ages to participate in a Talent Search showcase from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 4 at Oasis Coffee Spot, 9213 Little Road, New Port Richey. The entry fee is $15 per act. Professional judges will be used. Prizes will be awarded and acts showcased in future shows. Spectator admission is a suggested $5 offering. On, In and By the Water: The exhibit, which features artwork depicting water, is on display through Oct. 6 at the Uptown Art Gallery at Brooksville City Hall, 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville. Snapshots of the Mesozoic: A New View of Dinosaurs: Sculptor Lyn Joyce’s exhibit is on display through Oct. 17 at Pasco-Hernando State College Rao Musunuru, M.D. Art Gallery, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. Reflections: This collection of local artists’ works and craft items is on display through Sept. 27 at the West Pasco Art Guild, 6296 Jefferson St., New Port Richey.
