Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg: Downtown will literally be buzzing Friday-Sunday, when the annual opening race for the Verizon IndyCar series hits the streets along the waterfront. $20-$100 single day. gpstpete.com. Valspar Championship: Tiger Woods, top, and Jordan Spieth, bottom, are adding star power to this year’s PGA tournament held on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor.
