Spring break is over. The kids are back in school, counting the days until a glorious summer reprieve. But we're not ceasing to learn just yet. April affords us an excellent chance to review our alphabet, in the form of things to be excited about in Tampa Bay. To wit:

A is for Alton: Food whiz Alton Brown is at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts April 21.

C is for Clearwater Beach: Where the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival runs April 14-23.

D is for Dylan and Daphne: The Sunscreen Film Festival April 27-30 welcomes Dylan McDermott and Daphne Zuniga.

F is for ferry: Get a free Cross-Bay Ferry ride April 16.

G is for Kenny: Kenny G, that is, at Coachman Park April 21.

H is for Hairspray: American Stage in the Park gets big hair with previews starting April 19.

I is for imitation: Tribute bands for Jimmy Buffett, Queen, Bon Jovi and Prince are at Busch Gardens on April 30. And the Florida Orchestra celebrates Ella Fitzgerald April 21-23.

J is for jams: Tampa Spring Jam at the USF Sun Dome on April 21 has Guy, Teddy Riley, Dru Hill and more.

K is for Kinky Boots: Tuesday through April 16 at Ruth Eckerd Hall, with a Broadway alum in the lead.

L is for long: The Longest Table, WUSF's yummy fundraiser, is Thursday in St. Petersburg.

M is for Mamma Mia: Here we go again. April 21-22 at Ruth Eckerd Hall.

N is for Neil: Neil Diamond celebrates a 50-year career at Amalie Arena on April 23.

O is for One Woman Sex and the City: The Carrie parody (Carody?) is Saturday through Tuesday at the Straz.

P is for psychic: Theresa Caputo, the Long Island Medium, does her thing at the Straz on April 18.

Q is for Quezada and Quiles: As in Milly and Justin, who join Bachata Heightz at Busch Gardens on April 29.

R is for Red Hot: Chili Peppers, April 27 at Amalie Arena.

S is for Sandy: Olivia Newton-John sweetens up the Capitol Theatre on April 20.
