Acclaimed 'Six Degrees' playwright to give talk, reading

Tony Award-winning playwright John Guare (Six Degrees of Separation, House of Blue Leaves), a recipient of the 2011 Greenfield Prize commission, holds a staged reading of his latest play, Eddie in the Andes, as part of the Unplugged series at the Asolo Repertory Theatre's Annual New Play Festival. Michael Donald Edwards, the theater's producing artistic director, will stage the reading at 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 p.m. Friday in the Historic Asolo Theatre in the Ringling Museum Visitor Center, 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota. It's $5, free for museum members. — Sharon Kennedy Wynne
