APOLLO BEACH — Lands End Marina will host its fifth annual boating and fishing flea market Saturday to benefit the safe boating classes of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary (Flotilla 75 Ruskin).
For a donation, tables are available to anyone with surplus fishing and boating equipment to sell. Line, anchors, extra life jackets, electronics, dinghies, small outboards, boat hooks and fenders will be on sale, as well as obscure, rare and unusual marine items.
Last year, almost 600 buyers attended the event, where they were able to buy boating equipment from about 30 vendors.
The flea market opens to vendors at 7 a.m. for setup. It opens to shoppers at 8. Free raffle tickets toward prizes provided by West Marine in Apollo Beach will be given out at the door to all attendees. Additional door prizes include a golfing foursome at Summerfield Crossings Golf Course and pizzas from East Coast Pizza. Coffee, doughnuts, hot dogs and soda will be available for purchase.
Coast Guard Auxiliary members will be on hand to answer questions, offer advice and provide brochures and charts on Tampa Bay fishing and boating.
Lands End Marina, 1220 Apollo Beach Blvd., is a full-service marina with 105 wet slips, a fuel dock, a service and parts department, Mercury- and Yamaha-certified mechanics and high and dry boat storage.
