Chocolate Fest will attempt world records

In its third year at MOSI, the Festival of Chocolate is going to attempt to make chocolate and science history by breaking two Guinness World Records on Monday. The science museum says it will attempt "the World's Largest Practical Science Lesson" for ages 7 and up, and they have enlisted the help of a pool company for "the World's Largest Cup of Hot Cocoa" attempt. It all starts at 2 p.m., and it costs $10 to participate. Once the record is achieved, the MOSI Science Team will man catapults, and upon a mass countdown, a fury of marshmallows will launch into the World's Largest Cup of Hot Chocolate. A "Willie Wonka" character on MOSI's Sky Trail Zip Line will drop marshmallows from above, ensuring that marshmallows fall from all directions. Sign up to participate at tampa.festivalofchocolate.com. Space is limited. Entry into MOSI for the Festival of Chocolate is required: adults $21.95; children $17.95.
