Dali features Lincoln in 'Star Trek,' 'Twilight Zone'

Abraham Lincoln is trending. Lincoln at the Oscars. Killing Lincoln in books and on TV. Even Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Now Lincoln is at the Dalí, and not just in a painting. On Saturday, the surreal film series features Lincoln Guest Stars (Star Trek + Twilight Zone), because Lincoln was popular back in '60s television, too. In a 30-minute episode from the original Star Trek TV series, "The Savage Curtain," Kirk, Spock, Lincoln and Surak must fight four of history's greatest tyrants in a battle of good and evil staged by the Excalbians (originally aired in 1969). Also, in Twilight Zone episode "Back There," it's April 14, 1961. Peter Corrigan and friends are discussing time travel at their men's club. Corrigan suddenly becomes dizzy. When his head clears, he has moved back to April 14, 1865 — the date of Lincoln's assassination. The showings are free at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Dalí Museum, 1 Dali Blvd. (Bayshore Drive SE and Fifth Avenue SE), St. Petersburg. (727) 823-3767.
