1 Localpalooza: Ferg's Live in Channelside will host its first annual local music showcase, which will feature three of tbt*'s Ultimate Local Bands as voted by readers across Tampa Bay. Bands in order of appearance include indie rock trio Lions After Dark, St. Petersburg rapper and scene booster Infinite Skillz (most famous for his ode to the home team, Rays Up! played at Tampa Bay Rays games) and fun-loving ska band UNRB. Then at 9 p.m. local emcee DJ Blizz takes the stage with his signature eclectic mixes, ranging from Bell Biv DeVoe to Nicki Minaj. Free admission from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday at Ferg's Live, 490 Channelside Drive, Tampa.

2 Festival del Sabor: The family-friendly event showcases the sabor (flavor) of Tampa Bay's Hispanic culture through food, music and art. An adjacent folk festival in Centennial Park called Celebra Tu Herencia will include music, folk dances and arts and crafts. Festival del Sabor features a recipe contest and cookoff to find Tampa Bay's best arroz con pollo, with cash prizes awarded. Free admission, with items individually priced, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Centennial Park, 1800 E Eighth Ave., Tampa.

3 USF St. Petersburg Community Block Party: The University of South Florida St. Petersburg kicks off its 50th anniversary celebration with a block party Saturday. The first 2,000 people get T-shirts at the event, which also features a Rowdies soccer clinic for kids ages 6 to 13, a fresh market, kids' zone, food trucks, live music and an FSU vs. USF watch party. It's free from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the campus at 140 Seventh Ave. S, St. Petersburg.

4 Festival of Flight: The Tampa North Aeropark in Lutz hosts its annual sky-high event with hot air balloon launches, kite and delta trike demos, live music and food. It opens at 5 p.m. Friday with live music and a hot air balloon night glow until 9. Saturday brings a day of kite flying, aircraft and live music. Bring lawn chairs and cameras Saturday night for a night glow with live music. Sunday features a sunrise balloon launch and an airplane show. It's free with $5 parking at Tampa North Aeropark, 4241 Birdsong Blvd., Lutz. It runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

5 $5 Day at MOSI: It will be $5 for everyone to see Tampa's Museum of Science and Industry exhibits including its new 3D Printing the Future Exhibition and more than 450 hands-on, interactive exhibits. You can also check out the new Drone Zone, which features waterproof drones, called Spheros, and conquer missions by maneuvering an Ollie through a controlled obstacle course. MOSI is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at 4801 E Fowler Ave., Tampa.
