Free MLK movie, band performance at Tampa Theatre

Tampa's own Distinguished Men of Brass marching band (known as d' Mo Brass to their fans), who lit up the stage on NBC's America's Got Talent, will give a special high-stepping performance immediately before a free showing of The March at Tampa Theatre on Thursday. This free community movie night at the historic movie house is sponsored by PBS station WEDU and will screen the story of the 1963 March on Washington, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech. Go to tampatheatre.org to register for free tickets, required for admission. Doors open at 7 p.m. — Sharon Kennedy Wynne, Times Staff Writer
