Get freebies at Tampa Theatre on Sunday

The Tampa Theatre wraps up its Family Favorites film series Sunday at 2 p.m. with a showing of E.T., but get there early for some giveaways. Outspokin Bicycles will be giving away a BMX bike (we wonder if this one can fly across the moon like Elliott's). Other door prizes will include passes to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Tampa Theatre tickets and your very own Tampa Theatre gargoyle, "Ebie," shown here. Ebie was designed by T. Oliver Kopian and created by the Creatures of Delight studio, formerly of Ybor City, for a piece commissioned by the Tampa Theatre Restoration Society in 2007, said Tampa Theatre spokeswoman Jill Witecki. He is named after the theater's architect, John Eberson. Only 25 were created, and each is hand-signed and numbered by the artist. The theater will be giving one away as a door prize before E.T., and the few remaining will be available for sale at the concession stand. Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for children at the box office or online at TampaTheatre.org. The historic movie house is at 711 N Franklin St. in Tampa. —Sharon Kennedy Wynne

Universal Orlando announced Monday that it will close Dragon Challenge for a new "highly themed" Harry Potter ride to open in 2019 — sending wizard fans into a guessing game with hopes for a Floo Powder Network or the maze from the Triwizard Tournament.

  3. Restaurant review: Food and beer pair nicely at the Eatery at Brew Bus Terminal and Brewery

    Food & Dining

TAMPA - Tampa Bay's craft beer scene is perennially in flux. New breweries open, others close or get scooped up by bigger breweries, some reinvent themselves so they can sell beer off site, and still others build on kitchens and add food to give enthusiasts another reason to sit tight.

A Passion of the Heights hibiscus wheat ale is displayed at The Brew Bus in Tampa, Fla., on Wednesday, Jul 19, 2017. The Brew Bus Terminal, which houses a microbrewery and tasting room and serves as a hub for bus tours to local breweries, has opened an on-site kitchen called the Eatery. With the opening of the new casual dining concept, the brewery joins the ranks of microbreweries across the country that have asked that question: "What goes with beer? Hey, how about food?"
